Congratulations to Blueridge Starbound, his rider, and his owner, Kim Holderfield, on a fantastic first horse show! “Gus” won both of his dressage tests, competing against horses, with scores of 71 and 67!! Gus is just 4 years old and is a 14.1h Section B Welsh Pony sired by RosMel’s Scarlet Legacy and out of RosMel’s Starbrite.
Congratulations to Blueridge Calliope and Dartland Farms on the birth of their new 2018 bay colt sired by Blueridge Rising Star! This is "Lilly's" first foal and he is absolutely stunning. We look forward to seeing this colt in the show ring and wish Dartland Farms the very best with him!
Congratulations to Blueridge Moonbeam and Omni Enkin- Grand Pony Hunter Champions at the 2017 Royal Winter Fair in Canada! Omni and Luna were 1st place in the $1500 Small Pony Hunter Over Fences, $1500 Hunter Stake, and won the Small Pony Hunter Championship! "Luna" was also the Zone Pony Hunter Champion, Ontario, in 2017!
Congratulations to Blueridge Moonbeam and Blueridge Felicitous on qualifying for The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Ontario, Canada! We wish these full sisters, sired by RosMel's Notorious, the very best of luck!
We had a great time at the 2017 Carolina Welsh Club Summer Show!
Our yearling filly Blueridge Chantilly Lace, sired by RosMel's Notorious, pinned Grand Champion Section B and Reserve Supreme Champion! This was Lacey's first show, her first time off the farm, and she handled everything brilliantly. Blueridge Starlet was right behind her, pinning Reserve Grand Champion Section B! Starlet is in foal to *Hilin Peredur for 2018 and it is sure to be a spectacular foal. Our wonderful Section B gelding, Blueridge First Class, pinned Supreme Champion Gelding, handled by Noah Downman! Huge thank you to the judge and all involved in putting this show on!
Congratulations to Blueridge Rising Star on winning the High Point/ High Score Champion Training Level, his first time shown in Dressage! "Rudy" competed in the Open division against mostly warmbloods and once again proved that Welsh Ponies can be successful in a variety of disciplines. His highest score was a very respectable 70.217%, the top score out of all the horses and ponies competing that day, and he made many new friends that were new to the Welsh breed. We wish Rudy the best of luck in the show ring!

Congratulations to Blueridge Rising Star (aka Rudy) on his 2016 NC State Fair wins! Rudy won 14 Firsts under 3 judges in the Open division against horses! They showed (and won) in several different disciplines and brought home quite a nice bit of prize money. Rudy is a beautiful example of the versatility of the Welsh breed and is a very unique large purebred stallion. He passes on his exceptional disposition, size, and winning ways. This is a true love story and Frisco let us know right away that Susan was his perfect match. We are so thrilled she agreed, they have been enjoying many adventures together and are having a ball! We pride ourselves on being able to make good matches for our ponies, and Frisco continues to prove he has found his perfect home. We are looking forward to cheering Frisco and Susan on at the upcoming Baroque Equestrian Games Classical Competition Championship in Lexington, VA!
Congratulations to Simply Untouchable (aka RosMel's Scarlet Legacy) on finishing 2016 as Top 3 in the nation in the green medium pony hunter division!! "Zeus" and his fantastic child had a great first Pony Finals, finishing 21st overall (out of 67) and 6th place for the WPCSA awards, earning a beautiful sash. He did not put a foot wrong and we are so proud of this team! "Zeus" (aka Legacy) is a former breeding and successful competition stallion with national titles to his name in several disciplines. He was gelded in January 2016 with his new owner and quickly pinned champion at WEF with a junior rider his first time shown. He is a once in a lifetime pony, a true proven champion in every sense of the word, and we are thrilled he is back in North Carolina with an exceptional young rider. This fantastic pair also pinned circuit champion at the Tryon Spring Show Series! What a great start in the pony hunters! We love that Legacy gets to have fun going cross country on his "off time," one of his favorite things! Welsh ponies really can do it all and we look forward to this teams continued success!
